We really enjoyed our stay at Outrigger! I loved the grounds and the very spacious rooms along with the pool area and sun loungers with plenty of shade and umbrellas. The food was delicious as well! Special mention to Dinson at the Plantation Club who really goes out of his way for everyone! He is a true gem and an asset to the hotel. My only critique would be that there were much less Mauritians working at the hotel, especially at the bar and restaurants which takes away from our warm, local culture and friendliness. The new staff seemed a bit lost and it was sometimes difficult to converse with them... Otherwise we were very happy and would love to come back!

It was really nice experience, the beach was white with very fine sand. The service was truly amazing. Specially thanks to Azad Rajbhar…… the food was offering variety of good Indian meals prepared to perfection every single day…. Honestly we don’t like South Indian food. Otherwise all food drink was very good. Special thanks for perfect cleanliness! Rooms was cleaned daily, the staff is incredibly friendly & responsive. All over we relaxed in luxury resort with the opportunity to be active.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We stayed at Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort from 9th Feb to 13th Feb and had a really wonderful experience.
The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and right on the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the surroundings are very scenic, and the overall atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing holiday. The veg food options were good but less variety and the facilities like pools, beach area, and common spaces are well maintained.
What made our stay truly special was the Indian staff. A big thank you to Azad,Arpit,Yashu, Adwaid, Arpita and Soha — they helped us a lot during our stay, Food( indian food) and always polite, friendly, and ready to assist with a smile. Their hospitality really made us feel welcome and taken care of.

We had an incredible stay at Outrigger Resort – the rooms were exceptionally spacious and comfortable, giving us plenty of space to unwind. The swimming pool area is gorgeous and well-maintained, perfect for lazy afternoons.
The entire staff is very polite and takes very good care.
But the real standout was the food! The entire spread of dishes and drinks was fabulous, with something delicious for every meal. Special shoutout to Azad, who made sure we never missed the taste of India – his super tasty Indian cuisine was a highlight, bursting with authentic flavors.
Topped off with stunning beach views right from our spot, this place is a dream. Highly recommend for a relaxing beach getaway!

Disappointing 4‑Night Stay — Service & Room Hygiene Need Urgent Attention (2/5)
Stayed: 4 nights
Room type: Beachfront
Room (2/5)
Musty smell on arrival that never really went away.
Old, tired furniture that doesn’t match the price point.
Dirty AC filters — we had to request a cleaning.
No doormat at the entrance, which meant mud/sand tracked in every time it rained.
Broken shower head that should have been fixed before check‑in.
Service at the Bar (1/5)
Service was consistently slow and unresponsive.
Majority of the bar staff are expats and they really struggled with communication and follow‑through. They are also not trained for cocktails prep.
Some local bar staff came across as picky and didn’t check in or ask if there was an issue, even when it was clear we were waiting.
Dining & Holiday Offerings (1/5)
This was the Valentine’s/Chinese New Year long weekend. Apart from a Valentine’s à la carte menu at MUR 4,000, there was no Chinese food buffet or themed offering to mark the occasion—surprising, given the timing and guest mix.
Entertainment (0/5)
No meaningful entertainment despite the hotel being busy with Mauritian guests.
Only aquagym and a very basic bingo session were offered during the day.
1hour of live music after the dinner, but no cultural shows, kids’/family activities, or evening program to create atmosphere.
Overall
The beachfront location has potential, but the basics aren’t being met: room hygiene/maintenance, responsive bar service, and thoughtful programming—especially during a major holiday weekend. For the rate charged, we expected cleaner rooms, proactive service, and a livelier, guest‑focused experience.
Would I return? Definitely No!
