Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Polynesian. It is under construction. so we were fully aware of those changes going on and the different adjustments needing to be made. The front desk staff were super accommodating and helped us get our room ready at check-in time (although I was surprised that it was delayed and I was kind of hoping for a lei to be readily given rather than requesting it). The grounds were beautiful and the food was delicious- we really enjoyed Capt Cooks for QS and had a lovely time at breakfast at O’Hana.
Overall, we loved the room and the location, however there were some issues that accumulated over our stay that are worth mentioning. The drawers in the dresser were not functioning properly and that was always a fight to get to our clothes. The tv wasn’t working properly on the 3rd day and our outlets in the middle of the beds didn’t function from the start. Since we were staying not a long time, we didn’t call it in, but they are worth fixing. The hallways seemed a bit worn and it was interesting that the housekeeping carts were always sitting out in the hall, giving a cluttered feel along with the strollers. For a deluxe hotel, these combined issues didn’t give deluxe value. We stayed at the Boardwalk 2 years back and I honestly felt more deluxe in the experience.
The pool was fun, but easily felt crowded and I think there could be more covered offerings (umbrellas or a portico of some sort) to beat that Florida sun sometimes.
The people and the vibes made the experience really great, but hopefully some of those issues could be addressed.

We decided to stay at the Polynesian because it is a monorail resort. Loved the atmosphere. The rooms were awesome, but the resort could use some updating. Elevators need A/C installed. Carpet in hallways need to be cleaned. Elevators in main lobby need maintenance. (Rubber seal on Elevators door was ripped. Appeared it had been that was for a while.) Monorail resorts do have A LOT of non resort guest traffic. The beach was beautiful. The music throughout the resort was very relaxing. Safe would not lock in room and maintenance never showed up to fix it. Overall the staff was less than pleasant.

Negatives:
- No late night food options. I was told best option was McDonalds 20 mins away…. lol no joke.
- $1,000/night for room that feels like $150/night
- No room service when paying $1,000/night?
- No cleaning service when we stood 2 nights
- Asked for crib and never got it
- Shower water smells like total toilet. I’m not exaggerating. Maybe it’s a FL thing?
- Would expect a welcome gift or drinks when checking. Nothing… for $1,000/night
- We had two small kids and were given room without bathtub… really?!
Positive:
- Very close to Magic kingdom and boat ride is nice (although further than taking the rail)
- Valet Josh was super nice and helpful

Enjoyed every moment of this stay. The room was beautiful and very clean. Even though there was construction going on in certain areas during my stay, I never heard any construction noise from my room. My room felt very private and peaceful. The grounds surrounding the resort are landscaped with gorgeous tropical flowers, which made walking to the TTC very appealing.

Worst food service I've ever experienced. We stayed for 5 nights and the view of fireworks is great, pool / hot tub is nice, the little hang out spots in the Towers are cool, etc., but the food is HORRIBLE. We had a meal plan so often ordered breakfast or dinner from Captain Cook and they never once got the order right. Once we ordered a mac and cheese for one of my kids, but they forgot it. Once we ordered a chocolate croissant for one kid, they forgot. Once we ordered dinner and after 45 minutes of the app still saying "preparing your order" I came in and found it sitting on the shelf cold and then two hours later while in my room I got a notice that it was ready for pick up. Once I ordered Hawaiian pizza for my daughter, they gave us pepperoni. Over and over again ridiculously simple mistakes on what is already not great food. Super annoying. There is only one option for "snacks" or "quick meals" on site, so we were stuck with the worst restaurant on the planet. We also paid a lot of money for a reusable cup, but the soda machines were always out of sugar drinks and often out of other drinks. My kids were excited about unlimited Fanta options, but they were NEVER able to get a Fanta because the machines were always out of syrup and only offering the diet options (until those were out two and you could only get water from the fancy machines). Our other complaint was with the bedding - they only offer a super thin blanket (a sheet and thicker sheet) for each bed. My younger daughter was literally crying asking why she couldn't have a blanket. We had to set the AC up super warm to keep the kids from crying, but then the adults couldn't really sleep and woke up sweaty every morning.
