We absolutely love spending time at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Even when we’re not staying there, it’s one of our favorite spots to visit and just soak in the atmosphere.
The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained — lush tropical landscaping, palm trees, tiki torches, and that relaxed island vibe that instantly makes you feel like you’re on vacation. We love grabbing a cocktail, strolling the property, and then heading down to the beach to watch the sunset over the water.
There’s something truly special about ending the evening watching the fireworks light up the sky across the lake. It’s peaceful, romantic, and such a uniquely Disney experience without even stepping into the parks. The Polynesian never disappoints — it’s a must-visit spot for anyone who wants that perfect blend of relaxation and magic.

We recently stayed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations for a Deluxe Disney resort, especially at this price point.
The rooms themselves are a decent size and the location is excellent for getting to the parks, but the soundproofing is extremely poor. The walls and ceilings are very thin you can hear housekeepers throwing trash outside in the mornings, people walking around in the room above you, and conversations or kids crying in the rooms next door. If you’re hoping for a relaxing or quiet stay, this may be frustrating.
I also requested a higher floor and a king bed ahead of time but was placed on the first floor right by the pool, which added even more noise and foot traffic throughout the day and evening.
Another disappointment was the level of service. For a Deluxe resort, the customer service felt very basic and there was no turndown service offered at all. When comparing this stay to the Deluxe resorts at Disneyland Resort, the difference in service, attention to detail, and overall guest experience is very noticeable.
Overall, the Polynesian is beautiful and the location is great, but it felt like we were paying primarily for proximity to the parks rather than the level of comfort and service you’d expect from a Disney Deluxe resort. I’m glad we experienced it once, but I’m not sure we would choose to stay here again at the current price point.

Worst food service I've ever experienced. We stayed for 5 nights and the view of fireworks is great, pool / hot tub is nice, the little hang out spots in the Towers are cool, etc., but the food is HORRIBLE. We had a meal plan so often ordered breakfast or dinner from Captain Cook and they never once got the order right. Once we ordered a mac and cheese for one of my kids, but they forgot it. Once we ordered a chocolate croissant for one kid, they forgot. Once we ordered dinner and after 45 minutes of the app still saying "preparing your order" I came in and found it sitting on the shelf cold and then two hours later while in my room I got a notice that it was ready for pick up. Once I ordered Hawaiian pizza for my daughter, they gave us pepperoni. Over and over again ridiculously simple mistakes on what is already not great food. Super annoying. There is only one option for "snacks" or "quick meals" on site, so we were stuck with the worst restaurant on the planet. We also paid a lot of money for a reusable cup, but the soda machines were always out of sugar drinks and often out of other drinks. My kids were excited about unlimited Fanta options, but they were NEVER able to get a Fanta because the machines were always out of syrup and only offering the diet options (until those were out two and you could only get water from the fancy machines). Our other complaint was with the bedding - they only offer a super thin blanket (a sheet and thicker sheet) for each bed. My younger daughter was literally crying asking why she couldn't have a blanket. We had to set the AC up super warm to keep the kids from crying, but then the adults couldn't really sleep and woke up sweaty every morning.

We stayed in a Studio Villa for 5 nights, and loved it! I love the location of this resort since it has access to the monorail. The inside and theming are very nice, too. I love the food options here as well, and you can get dole whip on site. The room was very clean and was equipped with everything we need. The resort is huge so there can be a lot of walking depending on where your room is located. The pool is beautiful and has a really cool water slide.

So beautiful, such a magical experience. I think overpriced for the room but you pay for proximity to the park. Able to watch fireworks from our lagoon view room which made it all worth it. The restaurants were always packed. Food was okay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Vibe was great. 4.5 stars
