We visited Apollonion Asterias Resort last summer with my wife and our two children, aged 2.5 and 6, and we had a great experience overall. The resort is clearly designed with families in mind, and it really shows in both the layout and the atmosphere.
One of the highlights for us was the water park area, which our kids absolutely loved. It provided hours of fun and was well suited for young children, making it easy for us to relax while they played safely. The facilities are absolutely fantastic and very family-oriented, with plenty of space and activities to keep everyone entertained.
The food was okay not great but still perfectly acceptable. It seems likely that the menu is geared toward a large number of British guests, and is probably designed to suit a less demanding, more familiar taste. While it wasn’t a standout, it didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment of the stay. There’s also a Movie Theater but unfortunately we did not visit, simply because the movies shown were not interesting to us.
Another big plus is the nearby beach, which is definitely worth visiting and easy to combine with time at the resort. All in all, Apollonion Asterias Resort is an excellent choice for families with young children looking for a relaxed, fun, and well-equipped holiday destination.

The hotel has a wooooonderful garden, 2 very nice swimming pools, a main restaurant + 2 other restaurants, a Greek and an Italian one, where you have to pay, an open-air cinema, an exposition/a museum, a gym, a SPA, 2 shops inside the complex, a bar next to each of the 2 pools, from where you can grab a snack and a drink between the meals, and a big chess table on the terrace. The rooms seem a bit old, but the service was very good, always clean. Good food, fresh and varied. They also offer a few minutes (30 maybe?) of water gym in the main pool, and an evening bar, where the staff was playing quizz with the tourists, and dancing and singing. Very nice vibe. The closest beach to the hotel is extremely small, even smaller than what we saw in the pictures from the previous years, but lots of bars with sunbeds, and food. But the water is very clean and clear and warm, for mid-September. If you want to stay in the hotel, I definitely recommend it

Although disappointed we weren’t expecting much or too bothered. Just think the hotel star rating and what most happy clients seem to think can be misleading for others with different expectations/ standards. We aren’t snobs although strangely I do feel it while I write this.
Think modern 3* and you should be happy.
Don’t bother with all inclusive unless you want to drink loads of cheap coffee and booze. Most drinks I wanted weren’t included. Local restaurants are cheap enough but there aren’t many it’s so isolated here.
Hotel shuttle to nearest town is just a public bus that passes. It’s not the free service we assumed when told there was a hotel shuttle bus.
Also don’t come in late Sept if you want any sort of vibe or atmosphere. Hotel closes for the winter and feels like it’s already closed.
Well the stray cats got lots of love and fed well while we were here (from the paid extra restaurant lol).

Very disappointing stay – not worth the 5-star rating or price
I stayed at Apollonion Asterias Resort & Spa from 22 to 26 September 2025 and unfortunately my experience was far below expectations.
The room did not match the description on Booking.com: it was in poor condition, lacked promised amenities, and was not of the standard advertised.
The service was unprofessional — staff were unhelpful and inattentive, which is unacceptable for a hotel marketed as 5-star.
Facilities and overall quality felt much closer to a budget stay than a luxury resort.

Fantastic clean, beautiful, friendly staff - this hotel has everything and more. Loved Angela and Jenny in the cafe bar by the main pool. The waiters / waitresses in the main restaurant were so lovely and so hardworking too. Only faults with the restaurant were that we would've liked to sit outside at lunch and weren't allowed, also it was a fairly small buffet for the size of dining hall, however, I would definitely book again.
