This was our 3rd year staying here and we think its amazing. Rooms are great size, polite staff and clean reception/bar area. Pool and area small but lovely pool which is very easy to get in and out and all one depth.
Only thing I would recommend is that in the evening when everyone has finished at the pool is the loungers are all put back neatly around the pool and table and chairs arranged for the next day. As people move loungers around all day to be where the sun is they always tended to end up near the entrance to the bar which was difficult for staff and customers to go in and out.
Location is bit far out but we was aware of this so made allowances for Ubers but there are buses into the surrounding areas.
Great holiday already booked for next year.
Definitely should have a higher star rating.

Hotel is very nice, very clean.free WiFi everywhere.
The only issue is lack of towels. They collect dirty, and take it for wash. Sometimes they bring it back sometimes you have to go and ask reception for new ones.
When I spoke to room cleaner, she explained that it is very bad for them to face customers, but it is out of their control. Shortage of towels through out the hotel.
It is ridiculous, but who to blame.?
Otherwise I am happy to go back .15 min walk to the beach. 10 min to Lidle, Aldi,Continental supermarkets.
Alright Giza!!
Really clean apartment very large for 2 people. Bit of a walk to beach but nothing major. Pool small for size of block but seemed to always manage to nab a sunbed after lunch. Good value and friendly staff.

Positives: The main selling point for us, along with the fact the we got a deal through ‘On The Beach’, was the location. Although the hotel is in more of a residential area, it’s a 15-20 minute walk away from Praia de Rocha beach and around a 10 minute walk away from Aldi, Lidl and McDonalds which are all centred around the same roundabout. There are also some great restaurants nearby, including our personal favourite ‘The Boys’ (highly recommend the marinated pork), and a selection of others along the beach front- we also went to ‘Ristorante Pizzeria’ and enjoyed the food here although the other restaurants and bars along the beachfront also seemed popular. The hotel is around a 20-25 minute walk away from Portimao town centre which we thought was pretty. There is a free bus that runs to and from the beach and Portimao town centre once a day from the hotel. These leave at around 10am.
We also recommend day trips to Ferragudo and Carvoeiro. You can take the water taxi (€8) to Ferragudo which we visited on a Sunday so there was a market on where a variety of items were being sold. The actual town of Ferragudo is also very pretty. Carvoeiro has a boardwalk which connects to the caves - this was one of our favourite activities! Both of these locations can also be accessed via Bolt which was max around €10 for both trips from the hotel.
Hotel Facilities and Information: As for the actual hotel, the staff at the front desk were friendly and we thought that the decor in reception and the bar was great. The pool is in the main hotel building so if you’re placed in the separate apartment block like we were, you will have to walk across the road to reach it. The only food and drink allowed by the pool and in the bar are items that have been purchased from the hotel- you can only have your own food and drink in your apartment block.
There are no basic cooking essentials provided beyond the actual cutlery and crockery- you will have to buy your own cooking oil, washing up liquid, sponges etc although the hotel does provide some toiletries. We received two bars of soap, some shower gel and body lotion. There is no oven in the apartment which we personally found annoying as we, for the most part, did our own cooking but there is a kettle, toaster, hob and microwave included.
The apartment is cleaned everyday- we thought that our cleaner was really friendly and super smiley!
Negatives: There were unfortunately quite a few negatives for us, the main one being the complete lack of soundproofing in our room. All of us (in both the bedroom and in the main living area on the sofa beds) were kept awake throughout the night by cars zooming past which almost without fail triggered a nearby dog to start barking. There was also a lot of noise from around 4-5am onwards up until around 12pm due to the cockerels which the house next to the apartment block keeps. We also found silverfish in the cupboards and some of our dishes were dirty when we arrived. On one of the days, we had to pull the sofa beds out as we’d dropped an item and found that the floors were pretty dirty underneath- there were a lot of pubes! Something else to note is that there is only one air conditioning unit in the main kitchen area so the bedroom did get very hot overnight. Lastly, quite a few items in our room were broken although once reported to reception, these were all fixed within a few days.
Overall, this is a good hotel if, like us, you get a deal and are choosing it for the location so will spend more time in the surrounding area than at the hotel. If paying full price, I would potentially consider somewhere else, mainly due to the soundproofing issue although this was only our experience so it may be different for the main building/ other apartments.

What an absolute gem. I'd rate more.than 2 star. Very clean in room and around hotel and hardworking polite staff. Away from main strip but not to far to get to. Suitable for couples and families, a very quiet relaxing vibe. Plenty of places to eat so no need to be cooking. Hairdryer in bathroom. We were in 505 think best view as 2 balconies. One facing sea other facing Portimão. Beautiful views. We will be back again! Tjx for a wonderful time.
