Nerja
Nerja is situated just 50km away from Malaga. This former sleepy fishing village, with beaches of soft powdery sand and sparkling clear waters, sits beautifully in an impressive mountain range. Quaint and charming, Nerja holidays are perfect for families and couples who want that fantastic beach and history blend. Sweeping views of the Mediterranean and nearby areas allow that tranquil feeling of being at one with nature. Ancient monuments and buildings add a certain spice to this authentic Spanish holiday where you can sit back, relax and have fun.
The old quarters of the town are so attractive and remain virtually unchanged in their narrow winding streets, terraces and white washed houses. Flowering tubs grace the front doors and balconies along the way and bathed in wonderful sunshine, creates a sense of timelessness. The locals are warm and friendly and the charm is so alluring. So with high class beaches, pretty streets and a history soaked background, Nerja holidays are perfect for relaxing breaks for families and couples of all ages.

Quite nice hotel.. sea facing with wonderful views and peaceful.. breakfast was so good! there is a sunset view point nearby which is also great for sunrise! Also you can see the point where river Chillar meet the ocean and a very long walking path along the way which has gardens side by! Nerja itself is so beautiful ❤️

The staff is very friendly. The location of the hotel is very nice, it is sea facing. You can find eateries nearby. I loved to rooftop swimming pool and a Jacuzzi on terrace. The breakfast buffet had good selection even for vegetarian and guest. The hotel is well connected to the beach. We opted for a sea facing room, but it was bit small.

We stayed two nights at the sea view room. The room is cozy and new, although hoter ant vestibule in not yet renovated. The electricity was gone for few times, but after one hours it was working again. We really enjoyed the stay and the views from the balcony :)

It's a solid 8 out of 10. The hotel is very decent for the price. Rooms are spacious and clean. The rooftop pool is nice, although not heated, so quite cold outside of the summer.
The breakfast buffet is decent, nothing too special but good quality of food and quite a wide selection.

This review is for the annex hotel Perla Marina with the rooftop pool. The hotel is spilt into two buildings across the road from one another, plus there are apartments too.
I believe this part of the hotel has been renovated.
The hotel is beachfront.
There is free road parking all around the hotel if you can get it! Alternatively there's an underground carpark directly under the hotel at €15 a day.
Our room was located to the side of the hotel overlooking the neighbouring hotels pool and was quiet no road noise. We had a double room which has two beds pushed together, a sofabed, two bedside tables, fitted wardrobe with drawers and a dressing table come tea, coffee making area but no mirror over the dresser! There is a full length mirror though.
The bathroom has a mirror above the sink with a makeup mirror. The bathroom is a good size with a shower big enough for two.
Breakfast is good with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, beans, hash browns, pastries, cake, hams, cheese and a selection of breads. Coffee, water and juices.
There are two pools, one is on the roof with pool bar which was our favourite, the views are beautiful!
Nerja on the whole is quiet I wouldn't recommend it for young families needing constant entertainment. It's a layed back and relaxing experience.

Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay in hotel Ona Marinas. A very big plus is the availability of the beach and sunbeds you can enjoy free. The hotel is very lively and they try to engage guests. The room was decent maybe a bit shabby but overall good. The cleaning crew was in our room every day and changed our towels. The food was good, there was a variety of a lot of stuff. The staff were friendly and very forthcoming. We liked a lot that the beach was very quiet and a bit “wild” no cafes around no loud music. Overall we would definitely come again!

Had a wonderful week's stay at this hotel. Room was perfect with pool & sea view & large balcony. Only ate breakfast there which was varied and ideal. Although outside the town, taxis were readily available and only took 5 minutes into the town. The staff on reception were excellent and helpful at all times and I did not have any delays checking in or out. Would definitely return and would recommend this hotel to anyone! I have friends who come here every year and always stay in this hotel too.

Everyday you start your day standing 30 minutes in a line longer than the hotel. It’s the breakfast queue. It’s a shame really. They have obviously booked too many guests compared to how many they can accommodate. This is not how you want to start your vacation morning.
Next issue is the sunbeds. If you’re up and out at 9 this is too late. ALL the sunbeds in the beach/grass area is then taken already. It should have been a no save sunbed policy strictly regulated… tomorrow we need to get up at 6 only to ensure we get a sunbed!
The buffet food is very good tho. So for us it was worth an upgrade to all inclusive. :)
We arrived late at night with three kids and they knew we were four people in total. But the room was only made up for two. We had to do the rest ourselves at 02:00. I think this is a bit bad service but apart from this the room is okay. It’s also a good location of the room.

We had an amazing holiday. The rooms was dated but very clean and comfy. The food was delicious 😋. We can't complain at all. All of staff very nice and helpful. We will be definitely back again. Thanks for everything 👌

I recently had an all inclusive holiday here and I have to say it was a great experience! Although certain things were premium, there was plenty on the free menu for us to enjoy bar staff were always welcoming and polite. One thing I would say is the food in the buffet was sometimes Lukewarm but the variety of food was vast - considering the different nationalities they were catering for, they did an amazing job! The hotel lobby was modern and very clean as was much of the hotel. One minor complaint was the inside bar, the furniture looked tired and was often stained; the space was quite small with many people not being able to sit in and enjoy the evening entertainment. The entertainment was varied and each night there was something different, the entertainment team do an amazing job at keeping the children and adults occupied and happy, speaking multiple languages to make everyone feel special and welcome. The rooms were generally clean but I felt the bathroom could do with a bit of extra care, the shower-head had a build of limescale and I noticed bits on the tiles and the sink vanity, other than that, the room was cleaned every day and the team seemed on top of everything. The hotel has one main pool and a children’s pool. Backing straight into the beach, its location was perfect for enjoying the sea and the pool. It is in approximately 25 minute walk into Nerja but it’s a pleasant walk along the beach. Overall, I really enjoyed this holiday and managed to fully relax thanks to the amazing staff and setting!
Things to do on Nerja holidays
At the heart of Nerja is the astounding Balcon de Europa which is a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff and formerly the site of a grand Moorish castle. Once there, spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding area captivate you and make for memorable photographs. At lower level, Nerja is fantastic for its small coves and beaches against a backdrop of mountains awash with wildlife. Plenty of watersport activities are found here to help you while away the hours basking in the sun’s rays, so you can do as much or as little as you like on your Nerja holiday. Restaurants, bars and café’s are perfect for that Spanish cuisine accompanied by fine wine along with the everyday typical Brit dishes loved by all.
The history of Nerja is evident in its many wonderful monuments and architecture. Take the 17th century ‘Church of El Salvador’ for example. This fine display is a mix of baroque and Moorish and easily attracts throngs of tourists. Then again, why not visit the stunning gardens of Capistrano Playa that descend to Burriana Beach. Or for a real flavour of natural and unspoilt views head to the magnificent caves close to the town centre. Here, archaeological delights such as paintings and many more items are housed dating back to pre-historic times. All in all, Nerja holidays provide a fascinating wealth of things to see and do so come and discover this enchanting resort.
